Située en bords de Loire, la Bibliothèque est un bâtiment construit par les architectes Pierre Patou et les frères Dorian, pour remplacer l'ancienne , détruite lors des bombardements de 1940.
Inaugurée en 1957,reconstruite avec une influence tardive de l'Art déco.
Inscription à l'inventaire en 1996...Travaux entre 2012 et 2013, puis récemment...
